Junior Infants have settled in well in Scoil Bhríde.
Junior Infants have had great success in their art lessons where they have made Bears, Elmer, the patchwork elephant and have even managed to put Humpty Dumpty ‘back together again’ (well sort of)!
Aistear
Aistear is proving to be a big hit every afternoon. Our theme for Aistear this month is clothing. The boys and girls have enjoyed trying on and shopping for clothes in the role-play area, building a shopping centre with polydrons and creating clothing pieces out of playdough among other activities.
Breakfast Morning
Junior Infants enjoyed some fresh fruit and a cereal bar during our breakfast morning for Friendship Week. The children then danced the morning away with their peers.
Welcome to Junior and Senior Infants!
For the month of January we focused on Winter and the weather. The children are using the role play area as a weather station and are having great fun taking turns being the camera person and being the weather reporter. We are also playing games such as ‘Incy Wincy Spider’, ’Noah’s Ark’ and using the large blocks to further explore the theme of weather during Áistear.
We created penguins and designed our own gloves and hats in Art and in SESE we are learning all about changes that occur during winter and animals that can survive in very cold places.
We are also integrating the theme of weather into our Gaeilge and exploring ‘An Aimsir’.
