It was all hands on ‘desks’ in Scoil Bhríde this morning as the whole school community came together to relocate and conduct classes in the community centre. Members of The Board of Management, parents, staff and students all rallied together to move all the necessary ‘books and bobs’ from the school to the large hall next door. Trailers transported desks and chairs while baskets, laden with books and stationery, were ferried willingly between the two buildings. By 9:30am everything was in place and ready to roll! Students and teachers settled into their new space and classes ran smoothly in the warm environment. It was back to a ‘chalk and talk’ classroom with many pupils enquiring whether this was what school was like in ‘the olden days’? Technology may have been absent but the memory made today will last a lifetime. Storm Éowyn has left a trail of destruction across the country but today, in Scoil Bhríde, a very positive lesson was learned …The Power of Community and Goodwill!!
